Bock Lumber Company No. 1 Coming to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum

August 20, 2021 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is excited to announce the forthcoming return of steam-powered excursions. The museum has entered into an agreement with the owners of Bock Lumber Company No. 1 that will allow steam to operate on a long-term basis in North Judson.

Chesapeake & Indiana Donates Locomotive to Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum

August 18, 2021 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is delighted to announce that the Chesapeake & Indiana Railroad has donated locomotive no. 818 to the museum. The locomotive is a welcome addition to its growing fleet of historic equipment. It is currently operational and will remain in service, hauling freight until it is ready for delivery to the museum.

Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum Signs New Agreement with Shortline Operator

August 16, 2021 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is pleased to announce that it has signed a new agreement with the owners of the Chesapeake & Indiana Railroad. The museum will continue to lease a five-mile section of track between North Judson and English Lake.

Pair of Unique Locomotives Headed to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum

May 19, 2021 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is very pleased to announce the impending arrival of two unique diesel locomotives. BL2 locomotives 52 and 56 had previously operated on the Saratoga and North Creek Railway in New York and have been acquired by the museum through a lease arrangement with a private owner.

April 17, 2021 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is very pleased to announce its plans to restore one of Indiana’s most famed diesel locomotives. Monon DS-50 has officially joined the museum’s roster with plans to bring the locomotive back to life.

April 6, 2021 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum has acquired a piece of history with special significance. An original builder’s plate for Chesapeake & Ohio steam engine no. 2789 has been reunited with the locomotive. The locomotive is the crown jewel of the museum’s collection.

Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum Receives Significant Achievement Award

March 25, 2021 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Significant Achievement Award – Freight Car by the HeritageRail Alliance for its program of rehabbing and painting freight cars. The award was presented to the museum during the HRA Spring Conference Virtual Symposium.

Rare Opportunity to Capture C&O 2789 on Special Display

October 12, 2020 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is pleased to announce a special display of its most prized possession – Chesapeake & Ohio steam locomotive no. 2789. The locomotive will be on display for one day only at the museum’s park along State Road 10 in North Judson, Indiana, on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum Awarded $12,944 Grant

October 1, 2020 - The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum has been awarded a grant by the Indiana Arts Commission and the Indiana Destination Development Corporation. The amount awarded by the grant is $12,944.28. The grant was submitted and approved through the Arts, Cultural & Destination Marketing Organization Grant Program.
