Guest Engineer Program

Have you ever wanted to operate a diesel locomotive? You can at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum! Our Guest Engineer Program allows you to climb up into the cab of real diesel switch engine, pull back on the throttle, ring the bell and blow the horn. Learn how to handle a train with supervised engineer experience.

The program is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who holds a valid driver's license and can meet the physical requirements. We recommend reserving your time slot in advance, as availability is limited. HVRM reserves the right to cancel appointments and change equipment as needed.
