Chesapeake & Indiana Railroad Photos
The Town of North Judson purchased CSX's former Wabash Subdivision back in 2004 with a federal grant via the Indiana Department of Transportation. Through the efforts of the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum, this historic railroad corridor was saved from abandonment. The Chesapake & Indiana Railroad (CKIN) was chosen to operate the 33 miles of former Chesapeake & Ohio and Pere Marquette trackage. CKIN now handles more than 2,500 carloads annually, mostly consisting of outbound grain and inbound fertilizer.
