Career Opportunities

The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing railroad history through the efforts of a committed team. While we have long relied on volunteers to accomplish much of our work, the museum continues to grow and evolve, creating opportunities for individuals to contribute in a variety of roles that support our mission, operations, and public programs.

Volunteer Positions

We currently have several open volunteer positions within the museum.

Board of Directors

The museum currently has two open positions on the Board of Directors: President and Secretary. These are unpaid volunteer positions. Please fill out the form below to submit your application for consideration.

Board Qualifications
Directors and officers must be deemed qualified to hold a position on the board. Any individual who serves or plans to serve on the Board of Directors shall meet the following requirements:

  1.  The individual must be an eligible voting member.
  2. The individual must be a member for at least one (1) year.
  3. The individual must be competent to hold the position.
  4.  The individual must act in the best interest of the Corporation, discharge their duties in good faith, and adhere to the policies of the Corporation.

President Duties
The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Corporation and shall supervise and control all day-to-day business affairs of the Corporation subject to the policies and directions of the Board of Directors. The President shall preside at all meetings and shall not vote at those meetings unless called upon to break a tie vote. The President shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Board of Directors.

Secretary Duties
The Secretary shall be the chief communications officer of the Corporation and shall keep the minutes of all meetings, shall have charge of the records of the Corporation, and shall retain custody of the Corporate Seal. The Secretary shall be responsible for delivery of notices and shall maintain a register of the contact information of each member. The Secretary shall perform all duties incidental to the office and such other duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
