Twilight Pumpkin Trains

New this year at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is a twist on a fan favorite - the Twilight Pumpkin Train! The train leaves at dusk and returns in the dark. This train is suitable for all ages and offers a perfect family-friendly activity to enjoy together. Please dress warmly, as the evening temperatures can drop quite rapidly.

Before the train leaves, passengers may attend the "Not-So-Scary" Animal Show presented by Silly Safaris. They bring a collection of critters to put on a show that folks of all ages will enjoy. The show starts at 4:30 pm with the train departing at 5:30 pm. Attending the show is highly recommended and included in your ticket price, but is not required.

The Twilight Pumpkin Train is a diesel-powered excursion that takes passengers on a 45-minute, 10-mile round-trip journey from North Judson to English Lake where the train crosses the majestic Kankakee River before returning to town. We'll drop you off at our pumpkin patch where you can choose the perfect pumpkin for carving!

Regular Pumpkin Trains

If you're not interested in our twilight adventure, you can still ride a regular pumpkin train featuring diesel or steam power. Our regular pumpkin trains operate during daylight hours. Check out our regular pumpkin trains.

• Ticket Prices

  Adults (Ages 16+): $22.00
  Children (Ages 3-15): $16.00 (includes pumpkin)
  Toddlers (Ages 0-2): Free

  Infants and toddlers may ride the train for free but must ride on a parent's or guardian's lap. Tickets purchased online will be charged a booking fee. Please read our refund policy.

  • Trains run rain or shine.
  • No smoking, alcohol or pets allowed on the train.
  • There are no working restrooms on the train.
  • Our vintage railcars have limited handicapped accessibility - please contact us for details.
  • All trains operate on CENTRAL TIME (Chicago time).
  • Train times are approximate and we are not responsible for delays.
  • Please arrive at least 30 minutes early, as late boarding is not permitted.
  • We reserve the right to cancel trips and substitute equipment.
